Florida Has Many
Of The World's Top Golf Courses
With one of the world's greatest concentrations of golf courses, some people refer to Florida's Gulf Coast as the "Golf Coast." Nature Coast courses - including four ranked among the top 100 in the nation by Golf Digest magazine - offer challenging yet fun play for golfers at all levels.
Entertainment & Educational Activities

While the focus of the Nature Coast is obviously outdoors, some of the world's finest cultural and educational facilities are located nearby.
The acoustically perfect Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater and the classically elegant Mahaffey Theatre in St. Petersburg are complemented by the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center - the largest facility of its kind in the southeast - in downtown Tampa.
Classes on almost every topic are available at nearby universities and colleges. Public universities allow Florida residents over the age of 60 to audit credit classes free of charge if space is available.
The University of Florida in Gainesville, the University of South Florida and the University of Central Florida in Orlando all offer diverse programs for students and seniors. Closer to home, Central Florida Community College offers non-credit classes on topics ranging from computers and personal finance to health and gardening, including several classes created specifically for seniors. Pasco-Hernando Community College is easily accessible with five campuses located across the Nature Coast, including Brooksville, Dade City, Gowers Corner, New Port Richey and Spring Hill.
A Sportsman's Paradise
Where else could you find golf, fishing, canoeing, tennis, camping and diving all close to home, with almost every professional sport just a short drive away? The Nature Coast's location makes it easy to participate in almost every sport, except perhaps snow skiing.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Tampa Bay Lightning and the Orlando Magic are all within 90 minutes of the Nature Coast.
Spring is an extra-special season for Nature Coast baseball fans who can attend games of the New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, Philadelphia Phillies, Atlanta Braves, Kansas City Royals, Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians within a two-hour drive.
Other professional sports including arena football with the Tampa Bay Storm, women's professional football represented by the Tampa Tempest and women's professional softball with the Tampa Bay FireStix.
World Famous Attractions
Florida's world-famous attractions - including Disney, Busch Gardens, Sea World, and Universal Studios are close enough for day-trips from the Nature Coast.
